Hello @everyone! Reminder that VGDCs 48 hour Winter Game Jam will be hosted tonight at 6pm in Bruininks 530A. We also have Folwell hall 28 reserved at 10am on Saturday if your group needs a space to work! Games will then be due at 7pm on Sunday. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Happy new year @everyone! VGDC will be returning this semester every Monday and Thursday in Bruninks 114. The first official meeting will be next week Monday (1/22), but the room is free this Thursday for anyone to come hang out if they want The times we are meeting will the same from last semester: 7pm - 9pm

Hello @everyone.
Next Thursday is Thanksgiving, so the club will not be meeting.
The following Monday (Nov 27) we will be in Bruininks 114 as usual, but then the next three meetings are in Bruininks 131A (so Nov 30, Dec 4, and Dec 7)
Presentation Day is Monday Dec 11, and it will be back in Bruininks 114.
Don't forget that tomorrow will be the mid-semester check-in, so be prepared to showcase any gameplay or prototypes your team has been working on
You can also show up to see what everyone has created as well

Hopefully everyone's week has gone well.
The mid-semester check-in will be Week 9, so Monday October 30th.
The goal is to have basic gameplay ready to present, be that in a test environment or a basic first level.
@everyone We're off to a great start this semester! The groups that presented today all did an amazing job, and we will be doing another round of presentations on Monday. After the showcase, I'll also be offering a lecture on creating 3D assets in Blender.

On Thursday 9/14 I'll be hosting an officer's table (a mini-lecture) for adding visual effects, particles, and sounds to a Unity project—these are super easy additions that can enhance and apply to any game, so I hope anyone who attends can make use of them for our first project!

@everyone there is no meeting this Thursday, due to weather conditions. For those who missed it, the new themes are: Swarms, and Factory. Also, we will be sticking with the format outlined of 3 projects this semester, so scope control will be really important! We decided it's best to finish trying this format out to see how different formats might improve club Anyway, stay safe and stay warm everyone!!
YAARRRGH @everyone, Reminder that we be doing demo day for the first semester project this Monday, Febu-ARRR-y 20th. If ye can have a build ready that be really preferable, but if you can't that's okay! We can't wait to see the treasures ye made
Hey game jam people, there was a bit of confusion with the room today. We have rapson 56 again from 7am to 4pm today. We can't make reservations on sunday, so you guys will have to manage yourself if you want to meet in person. I apologize in advance. Also as a reminder, the jam ends at 8pm on Sunday! (9pm for Jacob because I forgot to send him his theme for a hot minute lol) Have your games in the drive folder by then.
